8's Animatronic Puppet Handby ~Shadowfox012

This is the Animatronic puppet hand I made for my 8 cosplay from the Movie 9... I carved each finger from a wooden dowel and the palm from a plank... alot of sanding/shaping with alot of different tools to get this desired effect for myself. on the other side there are pipes and eyelits in which some spider-wire runes through to allow the fingers/thumb to move inward toward the palm. I dremeled their paths until they met the wrist from each finger. I then have a pvc casing to cover the remaining path which is about the size of a broomstick with grooves in it. At the end is a square in which the holes for the strings can come through for my fingers to pull the strings. I'm going to attached later a peice to the end to latch it to my arm so I can move it freely... although this was my "FIRST attempt" at making something like this animatronic/puppet wise it was alot of fun/work but I'm happy with how it turned out.

The only issue is that the joints I use wall hangers that expand that have springs although they aren't strong enough so I need to replace them with a stronger string system eventually or if I do something like this in the future for another project. I may just make it like my other hand I made which is more like a glove with a similar looking hand on top that clinches when I grab things so you can't see my hand too much but it looks like he's grabing things with the big hand... might work better to turn this hand into one of those but I'll have to test this out to see how it fairs.

Haha master that's funny XP naw I'm really still a noob about it... although if you need help don't be afraid to ask since I did learn a bit about it when I made this one... watched alot of vids on other peoples designs as well as read whatever I could on the internet... was hard to find any real useful info since most people that know how to make good ones don't want to share their techniques/secrets. Good luck and don't be afraid to ask for help XD and glad you liked my hand! Even though I just recently dismantled it XC
