This is the head/helmet I made for my 8 cosplay from the Movie 9 by Tim Burton (which is based off of a Short by Shane Acker). The heads base is originally a baseball helmet with tons of expanding foam that I carved into the proper shape for his head. I then painted it dark brown, and when that dried I added the burlap skin to the head. That wasn't easy mind you lol but after that I went through with a long and curved needle and gave him that Frankenstein stitching across his face with brown wool.
After that was done I glued on his eyes which are mainly PVC which I cut and painted and added craft-foam for the iris of his eyeball. Now The hardest part about the eye for me had to be making that shutter lens part for the pupil... now that would of been awesome to make it move but I just did a lot of geometry and came up with the proper overlayed/layered pupil you see which is made out of thick cardboard.
By the way just so everyone knows I actually see out of the mouth on this which has a bit of black see through material on the inside to not mess with my vision but to obscure other peoples sight of my face. I did this mostly since for one I could have a wider range of vision by looking through a visor like form like his mouth rather than two holes for eyes. Plus the added height since I am only 5'11" which is average but I wanted to look taller than other 9 cosplayers if possible.
Actually it's a Shane Acker movie. Tim Burton came to Shane and proposed to help him make it into a full length movie.A lot of people get it wrong so it's no big deal (there's even a fan comic of Tim Burton being praised by a reporter and Shane being shunned.Tim Burton is saying it isn't his movie while the reporter calls Shane Acker a wannabe XP )
Good job on the helmet tough! It really looks like 8!Details are all correct and the optics are dazzling!
lol I know it was a short made by Shane Acker that Tim Burton made into a Movie... I actually had a long conversation with somebody telling me all of that before about him not getting credit and so on which I enjoyed hearing about, but I do try and slip his name in when I get the chance because he was the original creator... and thank you for the props! XD
That looks like you just went into the movie, grabbed 8, said "Hi I'm borrowing him for a bit" and proceeded to dissect him! So realistic!
